Egyptian architect Yassin Nassar comes from a family with a rich engineering legacy influenced by German traditions. His late grandfather, Dr. Gamaleldin Nassar, was celebrated for his landmark projects and academic contributions in both Germany and Egypt, while his uncle, Hussein Nassar, is a leading architect in Egypt.
Recognized for his natural talent from an early age, Yassin’s family nurtured his development, leading him to follow his uncle to Greece for his architectural studies. There, under his uncle’s mentorship, he gained invaluable experience and expertise typically acquired later in a career.
Yassin’s connection to Greece goes beyond professional development; he is drawn to ancient Greek and Egyptian traditions, particularly Hermetic philosophy. While many reject the physical world in favor of the spiritual, he views them as two sides of the same coin, with the spiritual guiding the material. His design philosophy emphasizes that architecture should be informed by deeper meaning rather than mere practicality.
His designs harmoniously integrate his deeper spiritual and philosophical inclinations with the modern, technical elegance derived from his German-influenced upbringing.
Yassin's designs explore the interplay between essence and form, the spiritual and material, the metaphysical and physical, the hidden and apparent, the inner and outer, and the relationship between 'the All' and the void.
